The Bertozzi family has been creating block-printed fabrics and porcelain from their Tuscan workshop since 1920. Everything is made by hand using traditional techniques that date back centuries. Their pear wood stamps (objects of art in themselves) are hand-carved, and then turned into stamps that are applied to linen and select porcelain. Bertozzi’s rich, vibrant colours are a closely guarded family secret, and a combination of steam and water, driven by solar power, offers unrivalled durability and ecological sensitivity.

    Ginori 1735

    Babele Potiche Covered Vase, Blue

    $844.00

Established in 1735, Richard Ginori is one the oldest porcelain manufacturers in the world. Known as the Ferrari of tableware, the company has established itself as the gold standard in the world of luxury goods. Ginori porcelain has graced the museums and tables of many European fine homes and luxury hotels, including the Vatican. Known for quality, craftsmanship and Italian design, Richard Ginori was acquired in 2013 by the Gucci fashion house.

The Babelle collection features a colour palette focusing on the shades of blue and red, while the design of each object recreates the fading effect of the underglaze embellishments; evoking XVIII century serial decorations obtained by using the stencil technique. Babele embodies all the characteristics that established Richard Ginori as an institution in its field, encapsulating in one single collection the perfection and know-how of the Florentine Manifattura. Contemporary meets tradition, without abandoning the brand’s distinctive classic and sophisticated essence.

Ginori porcelain has graced the museums and tables of many European fine homes and luxury hotels, including the Vatican. Known for quality, craftsmanship and Italian design, Richard Ginori was acquired in 2013 by the Gucci fashion house.

Sleek and rational: a logical path of lines evokes the image of a maze and creates a graphic frame that distinguishes the Labirinto Collection. The perfect convergence between ancient culture and the modern design of which Gio Ponti was one of the leading representatives, the collection was inspired by the pattern created by the master in 1926. The Impero shape, with its cylindrical outlines, evokes similar models from the late eighteenth century, imprinted by the lines of Neoclassical elegance, and it enhances the style and simplicity of the Labirinto Collection.

Exuberant, exotic, enticing. A stylized flower, known as the “garofano” — carnation — in the tradition of Florentine ceramics and reinterpreted by Gio Ponti in 1946, evokes distant memories in the Oriente Italiano Collection. The graceful, delicate hues of dawn and dusk glisten on porcelain like a symphony. Pure beauty and natural charm characterize Volière, the new Richard Ginori collection that epitomizes the masterful craftsmanship and artistic heritage of the Manifattura. The collection’s designs, featured on the signature Empire shape, are inspired by XIX century botany illustrations on botany, skillfully reproducing twelve graphic depictions of various species of birds perched on intricate festoons. The images are framed by floral motifs delicately highlighted by Richard Ginori’s specially formulated pure gold edging. Each figure is split up into different elements and colors, reproducing every hue, detail and colorful marking with a palette of more than fifty shades. The over glaze, applied using a special firing process, protects the pigments’ sheen.

Born in Toronto in 1947, Jim Lorriman has pursued woodworking from a young age. For the past ten years he has been applying his skills full-time as a self-taught woodturner in his Mulmur Hills, Bits & Pieces Studio, near Mansfield, Ontario.

Different kinds of woods pass through the door of Jim's studio - stair railings, window frames, siding, hockey sticks, old boat parts, lathing and dock cedar. He works his magic and this wood begins a new life as one of Jim's creations.
