CARE
To prolong the life of your Skeppshult cookware, it’s important to avoid certain practices. Do not use metal utensils that may scratch the surface and avoid cutting directly in the pan to prevent damage. Additionally, always store your pan in a dry place to prevent moisture buildup, which can lead to rust formation.
For daily cleaning, use a dedicated brush and warm water without any detergent while the pan is still hot. Avoid placing your Skeppshult pan in the dishwasher, as detergents and high temperatures can damage the seasoned surface. After cleaning, ensure the pan is completely dry. You can also dry your pan on the stove. This gentle heating helps to evaporate any remaining moisture, preventing the formation of rust and maintaining the pan’s pristine condition which means the product is ready to be seasoned again.
To season your pan, add a thin layer of canola oil to the dry surface. Heat the pan to a high temperature on the stove and allow the pan to heat for approximately 10-15 minutes until the oil stops smoking. This process will restore the seasoned coating, leaving the pan black and ready for use.
