A Casino Royale Vespar Martini
Recipe by Hopson Grace
"Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel." These are the strict instructions given by James Bond for the Vesper Martini, invented by Ian Fleming in the 1953 novel (and 2006 movie) "Casino Royale," named after the seductive Vesper Lynd character. Possibly the most famous drink order in history, when Bond is asked if he'd like his martini shaken or stirred, he replies, "Does it look like I give a damn?"
