Three Ways to Present a Kir Royale
Pour It On
Sophisticated and incredibly simple to make, the Kir Royale is named after Canon Félix Kir, a Catholic priest and member of the French Resistance living in Burgundy. The legend goes that when red wines were confiscated from the region in WWII, Kir defiantly created his eponymous cocktail, the Kir Royale. With only two ingredients — 1 part crème de cassis to 3-4 parts Champagne or prosecco— this cocktail is a crowd pleaser that's a snap to pour. Looking for something a little less fizzy? Swap the Champagne for dry white wine to make a classic Kir, and garnish with a seasonal berry. Serve it in an elegant flute, a chic coupe, or keep it casual in a tumbler. Any way you pour it, this drink's an easy yes.
