Serratus Teak Pepper Mill

Designed to evoke the feeling of a single continuous piece of wood, this pepper mill is delicate looking yet amazingly strong. A solid stainless steel mill with a Danish ceramic grinding mechanism (durable enough to be used with rock salt, if desired) hides behind a thin layer of Canadian wood. Meticulously honed and assembled to form its curvaceous grain-matched body, each pepper mill takes several days to make by hand.

Tantalus Design was founded by the Kay brothers. Shawn, a graduate of the UBC School of Architecture, is an industrial designer and passionate carpenter. His brother James is a PhD in Materials Engineering, and together they work with ethically sourced wood to create products made by hand and designed to last a lifetime.
